Welcome viewers, God’s beloved people. Let us open our hearts and minds in faith as we pray…
That Church leaders, inspired by the word of God, may lead all to walk with faith and trust, as we spread the message of God’s love and mercy to all people.
That those throughout the world who live without belief in God may come to know the joy of Christ.
For all those who are suffering physically, or emotionally, may they turn to Jesus, the Divine Physician, for healing and comfort.
For all married couples, may they grow in love and fidelity, always working to forgive one and other.
For those who are ill in mind or body, that God will restore them to health and well being.
Heavenly Father, hear our prayers that we gratefully lift to you, knowing that your love and mercy are upon us. We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.
Finally, Peace and all good be with you, holy people!
It may be helpful to give our viewers some background on Catholic View Point, Faith, Hope and Love. In about 2016, Fr. Michael Kiernan, who has been involved in ecumenism/interfaith for many years, was approached by Sacramento Faith TV staff about doing a Catholic program for their Interfaith channel in the Sacramento area. (SacFaith TV is a public television channel that airs content from various faith traditions.) Eventually, in late 2017, it was decided that it would be good to have a local Catholic voice on the channel and a guest show format evolved, hosted by Fr. Michael. Since these videos are made for television, you will see a one-minute opener and closer attached to each. Gradually, we may condense and shorten them for ease of website viewing, but for now they are complete.
The show has been joined by many guests, from all walks of life from clergy and religious, to teachers, professors, mothers, authors and many other lay persons involved in a variety of ministries in their parishes. We hope you will find them sincere, loving and filled with Faith!
Fr. Kiernan also serves as Pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Community, Beale Air Force Base and assists several parishes in the Diocese of Sacramento where he has been a priest for 47 years. He has long been involved in many charitable organizations and ecumenical/interfaith activities.
We invite you to subscribe to be notified as new videos or blogs are released! If you live in the Sacramento area, you can also watch the episodes on television channels, Comcast Channel 20, Consolidated 19 and AT&T 10, four times weekly: Sun. 7:00 a.m., Tues 9:30 a.m., Weds 8:30 a.m. and Thursday at 5:00 p.m.
